FSSAI Registration and License
FSSAI REGISTRATION AND LICENSE – All Food business operators including pharmacies or medical stores selling Health supplements or Nutraceutical products need to apply for the FSSAI license or registration. The FSSAI license is mandatory for both the export and import of food products. You will need to apply for FSSAI Central License for your export unit.
How to identify the category of FSSAI License/Registration by number?
FSSAI License number is of 14 digits and starts with ‘1’ while FSSAI Registration number is also of 14 digits and starts with ‘2’.
Types and Eligibility Criteria For FSSAI Registration
FSSAI Basic Registration
- Turnover up to ₹12 lakhs.
- Manufacturing units with a capacity of up to 2 MT per day.
- Dairy units are handling business up to 5000 litres per day.
- Petty food businesses include hawkers, itinerant vendors, temporary stall holders, etc.
FSSAI State Licence
- Turnover between ₹12 lakhs -₹20 crores.
- Manufacturing units with a capacity of more than 2 MT per day.
- Dairy units that handle the business of more than 5000 litres per day.
- 3-star hotels and above, repackers, relabelling units, clubs, canteens, and all catering businesses, irrespective of their turnover.
